It’s been awhile

My but the summer has flown by quickly and things have been so busy that I have not had a chance to do any updates. So I thought I might track back on the stories. Laura Jayne and the kids headed over to PEI for 3 weeks in July to get some sun and relaxation. I worked there for a week as well. Jacob and Katherine had an excellent time on the beach and spent lots of time with their cousins – Nicholas and Abby. Jacob loves the sea and the waves and has come to discover that beach sand is just asabsorbent as diapers.

Wayne and Wilma were as usual great hosts. Lots of good food and beer. I gained 10 pounds in just 1 week. If I ever lived there, I would be at least 300 pounds! To thank them for all thehsting , we took them out to dinner downtown one night. We had great fun as the restaurant had an Gazebo that fit us all. Jacob actually fell asleep in my arms as he was so tired from the day.

Things are finally settling down now that we are at home. We went out and spent $1,000 on landscaping last weekend. It was a good deal as it was 50% off the regular price. Laura Jayne did a great job on the design and we planted about 30 shrubs and bushes over the course of the week. I did a bunch of planting in the weekend without my shirt on. The neighbours called complaining about the glare. I should have listened as I got burned pretty bad. Nice colour though …

I went out and bought Jacob a rocket ship the other day. It takes special rocket engine fuel and will fly to over a thousand feet before the parachute opens and it comes safely back to earth. It even has a launch pad and a remote launch control. Jacobs loves it, the dog has not stopped barking and Laura Jayne is still running away from it. She shot some video of the first launch and I will add it to the site.

Katherine, aka Chunky Monkey, is doing really well and has her first 2 teeth. She is starting to lose her baby fat but is about 21 pounds on our scale. She is a really good humoured baby but certainly likes attention. She has learned to roll and will becrawling soon.  She has discovered Jacob’s toys and seems to love the trucks.  We may have ourselves a tomboy here.

I was in TO last for work and got to see Shelley, Dave and the kids.  This is the second time in a few months and it was great to see them. They have sure grown but are well behaved and very cute. Dave is going to have his hands full with Megs and Em when they are 15-16.

We are headed back to PEI this weekend for Kathy Hambly’s wedding. It should be fun as they are having the whole wedding out at Shaw’s where we had our reception. Should bring back some great memories. We are staying in a cottage with Wayne and Wilma, the kids and the dog. My things have changed.

All for now.  Ciao
