Ottawa Visit
I spent the week visiting Dad in Ottawa. I arrived last Saturday and am leaving today. Its was great as Doug arrived Monday and we had a fantastic visit with Dad. I must say it was definitely mans land for the week. Too much beer, sports, b movies and junk food but now I have my fill for a while. The highlight was that we went to see the Senators play against Washington. We were about 5 rows from the ice in the Capitals end. It worked out well as most of the action was there and the Sens won 6-5. Great hockey game. Dad is doing very well but he has the craziest dog you could ever meet. The backyard looks like a war zone with every plant (and some trees) torn up by the dog. Not to mention the “land mines” that exist everywhere. Dad says there is a dog service that will clean it up in the spring.
The house is in good shape and Dad is doing a good job of keeping it clean. The dishwasher has been repainted a lovely lime green that somehow tries to match the paint in the kitchen but does not quite succeed. However, it is better than the dirty white that it had become. I even watched Dad do his laundry and he very professionally folded his clothes. I will get some house cleaning done today to get rid of the dog hair. She sure loses a lot of hair for such a small dog.
Doug will be staying on for a while and then it will be a short time until spring and Dad can start traveling for visits.
