Dad had his operation last wednesday and it went very well.  It took them about 3 hours to complete the procedure.  After that, they had to watch him for 4 hours to make sure there was no internal bleeding. Thank goodness there was not as it would mean they would have to reopen and fix it.

Dad was sitting up and eating on friday and was in really good spirits.  He was not in any real pain but that could be the morphine talking .

If things progress well, he should be out Monday.  Shelley has been home with Mom during this and has been great support. 

One thing that must happen is that Dad must stop smoking or frankly it will kill him.  We all need to band together and help him quit.
