Dad

Dad has found out that he needs to have his atricle valve replaced in his heart.  Sounds scary but when you do the research it is very common and quite successful.  He is in good hands at the Ottawa Heart Institute.  They have a fantastic reputation and are pioneers in this field. Dr. Keon, their founder, was a pioneer of the treatment of emergency revascularization in acute heart attacks. He played a key role in the development of parallel hearts and cardiac transplantation and was the first Canadian surgeon to implant a total artificial heart as a bridge to transplantation.  Dad is in good hands.

I don’t know when his operation will be.  He thinks it may happen in April but could be early May.  I am planning on flying up to see Mom and Dad around that time.  Will provide updates as I get them.
