Little Snake Charmer and Blossoming Artist
Jacob and I decided to check out the new reptile exhibit at one of our favourite museums, the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History. They have a fantastic array of huge robotic reptiles including a rattlesnake, alligator, iguana and some other weird reptile I can’t remember. Jacob was a little freaked out at first to go near the snake (he gets this honestly from Grandma Fournier), but then was trying to climb it at one point.
The real highlight of the show was the live reptiles. They had a number of different Boa Constrictors that you could actually touch and handle. I think that you should head over to the photo section and see our little guy in action. Warning – this photo selection contains graphic material not suited for younger viewers and those with a strong phobia for snakes.
After the exhibit, we headed downstairs to a dairy farm exhibit. Jacob got to milk a fake cow that they had set up. He did a really good job until he tried to drink it straight from the source.
Now ,where does the Blossoming Artist come into play? Well in preparation to attend the exhibit, I had let Jacob outside for a few minutes while I grabbed the car keys. When I got outside, he was holding a rock in his hand. When I asked him what he was going, he gave his best mischievous smile and said nothing. It was then that I noticed that I know had a delightful array of scratches in the paint of my car. We have quickly put to rest any thoughts he may have of being a “rock automobile artist”
